Walter E. Lees, Pioneer Pilot, soloed in 1912 and continued in aviation until 1945. He flew approximately 12,000 hours and handled over 60 different types of aircraft. In 1931, he set a nonrefueling endurance record in a PackardDiesel powered Bellanca which stood until 1986
