The Faculty of Aerospace Engineering was founded in 1940 and at present numbers about 1700 students, which makes it one of the largest faculties of Delft University of Technology. The Society of Aerospace Students Leonardo da Vinci SAS has looked after the interests of aerospace students since 1945. With over 1600 members, the SAS is one of the largest societies of engineering students in the Netherlands.
